Burger King recently announced plans to make major changes to its menu, including bringing back two former fan favorites just in time for summer.

The home of the Whopper revealed that in May, Mozzarella Fries will return to the menu for a limited time. Also, one of their all-time classics, the BK Melt, is making a return, and it’s coming with a new flavor.

Burger Kings Rotating Menu

Being one of the world’s largest fast-food franchises, it makes sense that Burger King has certain items that rotate on and off the menu. While it can be heartbreaking to see the disappearance of your favorite snack, it’s all the better when it returns.

In anticipation of the summer season, BK announced its plans to introduce a new version of a fan favorite alongside the return of several sandwiches that haven’t been available for some time.

A New Spin on an Old Classic

First up, Burger King will be reintroducing its widely popular Mozzarella Fries. However, they have received a makeover, and foodies claim they are tastier than ever.

The fresh spin on the old appetizer, a breaded fry-shaped cheese stick, has already garnered the attention of entertainers such as YouTuber Ian K from Peep This Out.

The reintroduced Burger King Mozzarella Fries come in portions of 4, 8, and 12 and are accompanied by a marinara dipping sauce.

According to the influencer, who’s seen in the video eating the new mozzarella sticks after dunking them into the sauce, they taste great, have a “nice crispy outer coating” and have a “decent amount of mozzarella cheese action” inside.

Reason Behind the Switch-Up

The video posted to the Peep THIS Out channel has amassed nearly 9,000 views with plenty of interaction from BK fans. One user claimed to have shared their theory on why the fast-food restaurant decided to opt for a change-up.

“Thinner mozzarella sticks so they can give you more breading and less cheese,” they wrote. While some have postulated shrinkflation, others are happy with the new menu item.

The Return of the BK Melts

While the Mozzarella Fries appear to be a hit with Burger King fans, others are more excited about the return of the BK Melt to menus across the United States. They have even added some new flavors.

The new sandwich returned in mid-May. Customers will be excited to know that the classic BK melt, comprised of two flame-grilled Whopper Jr. patties accompanied by caramelized onions, American cheese and Royal cheese, is also making a comeback.

Burger King also announced the Bacon Melt, which has all the same great ingredients as the classic but is sandwiched between the toasted buns and numerous crispy bacon rashers.

However, what’s left BK fans most excited is the announcement of the new Philly Melt. This sandwich features two flame-grilled Whopper Jr. patties, royal sauce, Swiss cheese and a plethora of flame-grilled onions and peppers.

BK Melts Only Back for a Limited Time

The highly popular BK melts first appeared on Burger King menus in 2022. Customers loved the various creative and fun versions of the melts, including the Spicy Melt and the Shroom’ n Swiss Melt.

Burger King has also announced a new sandwich that will only be available in Washington, D.C. or Atlanta: the Buffalo Ranch Royal Crispy Chicken Melt.

This will be the first time Burger King has ever made a melt with chicken instead of beef. The locations will trial the sandwich, and if it becomes popular, there is a good chance it will spread to other BKs across the states.
