Harvard Expert Suggests There Is Only One Type of Alien Life-Form That Could Make It to Earth’s Doorstep
Offering a unique perspective, a Harvard astrophysicist recently shared his intriguing opinion on the potential for aliens to reach Earth from another planet in interstellar space, and its not what you’d expect.
The renowned Avi Loeb explained that it’s highly unlikely that biological creatures from another planet in interstellar space could survive the long journey to Earth. Yet he does believe there is one form of alien life that could make it to our planet, explaining that artificial intelligence could safely transverse the stars.
US Government Begins to Take Aliens Seriously
In recent years, the United States has witnessed a significant increase in UFO sightings. The proliferation of images and videos depicting alleged alien craft has prompted the government to establish the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office to investigate these sightings.
Several years ago, NASA also created a new position that aimed to oversee research on UFOs. However, a study was released in 2022 that determined the various sightings were likely not signs of extraterrestrial life.
NASA Administrator Speaks on Study
Speaking on the results of the study, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson further emphasized that his team found no credible evidence to support the theory that aliens are responsible for the various sightings.
“The NASA independent study team did not find any evidence that UAP has an extraterrestrial origin, but we don’t know what these UAP are,” he said.
Astrophysicist Isn’t Convinced Earth Has Been Visited by Aliens
Despite the findings of the NASA report, UFO whistleblowers such as David Grusch continue to argue the U.S. government is suppressing evidence of the existence of extraterrestrial craft that have crash-landed on our planet.
However, astrophysicists such as Loeb tend to agree with NASA. During an interview with Fox News, he revealed he isn’t convinced that biological creatures from outer space have visited us.
No Biological Creatures Have Reached Earth, Says Astrophysicist
During a recent appearance on GB News, Loeb explained why he’s not yet convinced that planet Earth has received extraterrestrial visitors. “It would take about a billion years to cross from one side of the Milky Way galaxy to the other,” said the Astrophysicist.
He continued, “Given that, I don’t think any spacecraft that would arrive to us from another star would carry biological creatures.”
Aliens Make Use of Artificial Intelligence
Loeb explained that it’s highly unlikely a biological creature could survive the extremely harsh conditions of space during a lengthy journey to our solar system.
However, the Harvard researcher admits that there’s another possibility. According to Loeb, it’s more likely that any spacecraft of alien origin is the product of artificial intelligence.
Using AI to Travel Through Space
According to Loeb, biological creatures wouldn’t survive the journey being bombarded by energetic particles in interstellar space for so long,” he said.
He continued, “It’s more likely, if they are autonomous, they have an artificial brain, artificial intelligence. We have already developed that on Earth; we haven’t launched it to space, but that would be the next step.”
The Potential of AI in Space Exploration
Speaking on the potential advantages of using artificial intelligence in space exploration, Ziven Havens, the policy director of the Bull Moose Project, explained that there are a plethora of benefits during an interview with Fox Online.
“There is a possibility that AI will open up space travel both for manned and unmanned vehicles by reducing costs and increasing safety,” Havens said. “The possibilities are truly endless, and that makes the future of AI more exciting.”
AI Can Help Spacecraft Survive Harsh Conditions in Space
Samuel Mangold, a staff editor at The Federalist, explains that artificial intelligence could revolutionize space travel.
“AI can be used to [run] complex complications in short periods of time. So, on the surface, AI could be used to chart courses, figure out ideal weight loads, and anything else related to space travel that requires complex math,” he said.
Protecting Against Unnatural Environments
Mangold-Lenett suggested that using AI in long-haul space exploration would provide additional protection for life in harsh and unnatural environments.
“It could also be used, as we’re seeing with medical science and agriculture, to install and operate systems that preserve and maintain life in harsh or even unnatural environments,” said the editor.
Astrophysicist Calls on Government for Transparency
While Loeb remains hesitant to believe that aliens have visited Earth, the astrophysicist did call on the U.S. government to be more open when it comes to UFO research, as this will help scientists in the long run.
“The government monitors the sky for national security purposes,” Loeb said, “whereas scientists [and] astronomers, for example, look at small regions of the sky at very distant sources of light. If something flies overhead, astronomers ignore it. If there is something over there, it’s the government that would be the first to notice it.”
Loeb Wants Full Disclosure For Scientists
According to Loeb, scientists can play a crucial role in making sense of the unexplained phenomena. However, this is only possible if the government agrees to full disclosure of the UFO sighting.
“As a scientist, I respond to evidence,” Loeb said. “That’s what we are waiting for: the government to disclose what it knows. It’s really important for me because I’m trying to find the evidence myself, but the government can save me a lot of time,” said Loeb. “Why should I spend decades of my life looking for something when the government already has it?”
