President Biden ‘Not confident’ There Will Be A Peaceful Transfer of Power if Trump Loses Election

While it is clear that Joe Biden and Donald Trump do not get along, Biden has said he is genuinely worried about what will happen if Trump wins the election. Biden is especially concerned about what the transfer will look like, claiming it won’t be peaceful.

Many have referred to what happened on January 6, 2021, when Trump lost the election, and his praise for the riots on Capitol Hill. With Trump saying it will be a “bloodbath” if he loses, many Americans are worried about what this upcoming election will bring.

Trump’s Reaction to Biden’s Withdrawal

When Biden announced that he was withdrawing from the presidential elections in July, many people had much to say about it. One of the more outspoken people on the matter was Trump.

Trump responded that Biden is “the single worst president by far in the history of our country.” He also referred to Biden as being “crooked” and “not fit to serve.”

Biden’s Warnings About Trump

Biden has warned about what will happen to the US if Trump becomes President again. One of those warnings concerns the Supreme Court and future judicial appointments.

This is because the President can vote for who they want in the Supreme Court, significantly influencing laws brought in or overturned.

Trump’s False Claims

In the lead-up to the election, there have been various presidential debates, which initially began between Trump and Biden when Biden was still in the race to serve a second term as President.

In one debate, Trump made over 30 false claims, which is very concerning to those worried that he will become President by the end of the year.

Trump’s “Bloodbath” Comments

Earlier in the year, Trump made comments regarding what will happen if he doesn’t get to serve a second term as President. He said it would be like a “bloodbath,” but Biden believes otherwise.

Biden believes that even if Trump does become President again, chaos will happen and that these claims from Trump should be taken seriously.

The Difference Between Winning and Losing

Biden has pointed out that there shouldn’t be a difference between winning and losing and that Trump should still love his country regardless of the election outcome.

One of the main issues is that Trump is so set on winning that he hasn’t considered the possibility of losing. If he does lose, he believes the result will be catastrophic.

Claims of Inciting Violence

When Trump made his bloodbath comments in March, the White House said he was inciting violence. This is a claim that Trump strongly denies.

It’s all well and good for Trump to maintain that these are just words or what he says is being taken in the wrong way, but given what happened on Capitol Hill in 2021, these things need to be taken seriously.

The Aftermath of Capitol Hill

A good indication of what could happen is to look at the aftermath of Capitol Hill. During the riot, five people died. One was shot by Capitol police, one from a drug overdose, and three from other causes, which included a police officer.

Over three years since, 1470 individuals from almost every single US state have been charged with the events that happened. Five hundred and thirty of those individuals have been charged with either assaulting or impeding law enforcement.

Republicans and the Election

In his comments, Biden also made claims regarding Trump, the rest of the Republican party, and the election. He commented on what Republicans are doing in the local election districts.

Biden referred to where people count the votes; however, his comments were only in a brief clip. It’s currently unknown whether he talks about Republicans challenging the vote count or trying to intimidate election workers.

A Rule Change in Georgia

Some rule changes regarding this election have already been made, most notably in Georgia. Local officials in the state have been given more control over the certification of election results.

Georgia is a Republican-run state, and because officials have more control over the results, Trump has praised the people who approved this rule change.

Trump Claims He Can Accept Losing

In one political debate against Biden, Trump claimed that after what happened last time he lost an election, he would be able to accept losing this time around—sort of.

Trump made it very clear he would only be able to accept a loss as long as it was a “fair and legal and good election.” This was after he initially avoided the question and left much open to the imagination.

However, as the interview is yet to be seen in full, America will have to wait and see what the outgoing US President really thinks of Trump and how he thinks Harris will fare against him.
